Very good choice - Viv Drohan

Having driven from Oxford to visit my daughter at Uni in Exeter we decided to have a visit to Dartmouth. After having a wander around the town etc, and feeling hungry, we randomly chose Rockfish as a place to eat...... an excellent choice!! Delicious fresh cooked food (at at reasonable price) and charming/efficient staff. Pity Dartmouth is a 4 hr or so drive away from Oxford as I'm sure I would visit more often!! THANKS.

Fish so fresh ! - Romi Purkayastha

It was quite late for lunch when our hungry group of 4 stepped off on the Dartmouth pier and spotted this bold blue and white sign that said "Tomorrow's fish are still in the sea". Sold on the line, we headed straight in and realized that it was one of our best food discoveries!
The décor inside consisted of colourful placemats filled in by customers, some by imaginative 3 year-olds, some by enthusiastic 80 year olds, proudly pasted on the walls and the ceiling, giving it a homely, warm and cheerful look. We got our own set of colour pencils and placemats to draw on, and soon after placing our large order, got lost in our own imaginary underwater world.

The service was prompt as the Grilled Haddock, Sole with Breadcrumbs, Fried Gurnard and Grilled Bass all accompanied with deliciously hot and crisp fries arrived in no time. The fish was very fresh, and all the preparations were perfectly cooked. Joanie, our chirpy waitress, was a local girl with years of fun experience behind her who happily chatted on about local places to see, other good places to eat at, and even shared some juicy local gossip! It felt like a long-drawn picnic lunch at your Nanna’s own beach shack!

The bill was surprisingly reasonable for such a feast and by the time we bid goodbye, it was almost tea-time! This place served some of the best fish I have eaten in the world and we just know that we will go back a second time, (maybe even a third?)! So long, Mitch Tonks… And thanks for all the fish!

We came to the restaurant on a busy regatta week it was absolutely wonderful. The food was just delicious i believe it was cooked by a gentleman called Ovy, we had a beautiful Frito Misto which is lightly fried monkfish, whitebait, calamari, prawns and gurnard we also had a gorgeous breaded plaice. All served by a wonderful young lady her name was Chelsea if i heard correctly, she treated us as if we were VIPS or the only customers of the evening and the couple next to us (cosy seating) said that she had been brilliant to them too. She explained to us exactly where the fish was from how it tasted, her food preference and gave us answers to every thing we asked like she had the knowledge of a professional (wish we had asked if she was). My wife and i will be sure to be served by her the next time we come in. The kids opposite has wonderful squid packs all filled with exciting and great gifts and the walls and ceilings were covered in delightful drawings which just make the atmosphere even greater. Be sure to visit this fantastic place, not just for food but for even better customer service!
